Project details

The Montreal International Forum (FIM) is an international non-governmental think tank whose goal is to increase the influence of intentional civil society on the United Nations and other multilateral institutions including the World Trade Organization, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

FIM's forum brings together civil society practitioners from around the world in order to review and examine case studies of concrete experiences that illustrate the important, unique or exemplary role played by CSOs on the multilateral scene.

Some examples of such influential actions have included case studies analysing the role of civil society played in the creation of the International Criminal Court; the establishment and implementation of the Ottawa Convention banning landmines and the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
